Salary Range:                                     

  • Depending upon experience
  • According to the Salary Scheduled approved by the HISD Board of Trustees

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s degree in educational administration
  • Texas Mid-management or other appropriate Texas certificate
  • Certified Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS) appraiser (ILT to ILD)

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Must be a dynamic, energetic, and highly-motivated individual to lead a growing 2A high school campus
  • Ability to establish a professional learning community to improve student success.
  • Working knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and instruction
  • Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to manage budget and personnel
  • Ability to coordinate campus functions
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

  • Three years of experience as a classroom teacher
  • Previous experience in instructional leadership roles
  • Prefer Assistant Principal experience on a secondary campus
