Regular Meeting

The
Board of Trustees met on T uesday, December 12, 2006, at 7:00 p.m., and the
following board members were present: President
Pat Turner, Secretary Estelle Holmes and Board Members, Jimmy Anderson, Monica
Cantrell, and Tom Ivey. The board
conducted the following business:
- Approved the consent
agenda consisting of Minutes, Monthly Financial and Cash Reconciliation
Reports for November, and Monthly Tax Collection for October.
- Heard the following
reports from the Superintendent’s Office:
- Kids First Head Start
for November
- NCLB “Highly
qualified” Teacher Recruitment and Retention Plan for 2006-2007 with
comments from Curriculum Director
- Benchmark results with
comments from Campus Principals
- October Exit TAKS
results with comments from High School Principal
- Heard report from High
School Principal on commencement plan for May 2007.
- Heard draft report by
Chris Breaux, Null-Lairson, CPAs and approved Annual Financial Audit. Final audit report to be released in
January 2007.
- Approved the 2007-2008
school calendar with expression of appreciation to the members of the
calendar committee.
- Approved contract for an
Educational Diagnostician for the Greater Gulf Coast Cooperation (Special
Education).
- Approved addition of position
of Interim Superintendent to authorized signatories.
- Cancelled closed
session for purpose of hearing Level III Grievance regarding discipline of
a public school child for no-show by grievant.

from Superintendent Barbara Wilson
This
is the final Board Action Report that I will prepare for Hitchcock I.S.D.
because of retirement on December 31.
Mr. Lee Knapp, who becomes Interim Superintendent on January 1, 2007,
will take over the reporting of board actions.
