Stewart Elementary Fourth Grader Texas history students stepped back in time with the Brazoria County Historical Museum for the Ninth Annual Austin Town on November 2, 2007.The students experienced a living history re-enactment during the early days of Texas along the banks of the Brazos River. The student shared in the experience as Austin Town recalled and celebrates the lives of those pioneers who settled Colonial Texas from 1821 to 1832.
Set just north of Angleton, the fictitious “Austin Town” features character interpreters, demonstrators, settlers, militia drill units, and period games. The purpose of the event is to provide an educational and entertaining experience.
