DECA Southern Leadership Development Conference
January 08, 2008
Three students from Hitchcock High School attended the DECA Southern Leadership Development Conference held in San Antonio, Tx. DECA is an association for students enrolled in marketing courses in High School or College. The students were Sable Howard, Catalina Tovar, and Ana Diaz, Vice President of Hitchcock HS DECA. While at the conference, the students were treated to a day at Sea World where the park was only open to over 1600 students attending the conference and a private show with Shamu and Friends. The students attended workshops including Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Industry and Leadership. At the closing session, the students were treated to a guest speaker who had a message, "Life is tough, life is beautiful." The river walk was and the market were beautiful and the Alamo was fun. However the best part of the 4 day trip was meeting teens from all over the southeastern U. S. The conference only comes to Texas every few years, so it was the perfect time to participate.
