Helicopter used to promote learning
February 25, 2008
On March 14th, a helicopter will fly into Stewart elementary in Hitchcock to help the students to study math and science subjects. The focus will be on the characteristics and dimensions of the aircraft and what travel, lift and speed capabilities it has. Students will be taking measurements and answering math and science questions about the helicopter that the teachers have proposed. Science classes from the junior high and high school will be invited to take part as well. The aircraft will arrive at 9am and be on the ground for approximately one hour. Mike King, owner of the helicopter, of Ascent Aviation at the La Porte airport will be on hand to help answer questions about flight and the aircraft.
