LaTreva Green was featured in the Galveston Daily News on Sunday
in the Community Literacy Education insert. She was honored with
the Leslie P.
Daughtry Scholarships. Leslie P.
Daughtry ran The Daily News from 1967 until 1987 and the paper to
honor his memory created the Leslie P. Daughtry
Scholarships. Every year for the past 15 years they have
awarded a 1,000 cash scholarship to a college-bound senior at each
one of the county's public and private high schools.
LaTreva plans
to attend Texas State University to pursue a degree in Sports
Medicine. She would like to bean athletic trainer after she
graduates from college.
