“Chef for a Day”

April 16, 2008

Dream….Believe….Achieve

“Chef for a Day”

Caleb Guidry, a fourth grade student at Stewart Elementary, expressed his dream of one day becoming a world famous chef, to the principal. She spoke with Mrs. Brantley, the cafeteria manager, to arrange for his dream to come true.

Under the direction of Chartwell’s Cafeteria Manager, Caleb was given the opportunity to be “guest” chef for the day, on April 9, 2008.  The students were provided a well tasting and very nutritious meal, by chef Guidry and under the supervision of Ms. Lambright.

In Caleb’s Words

“This was a very exciting experience to be in the kitchen.  I had so much fun cooking and preparing meals for all the students. My Mother, Grandmother, and little Brother came to see me serve food to the students.  Laura Trigo, Executive Chef at the Hilton Garden Center in Houston, provided me with the chef hat and apron.  This experience makes me want to pursue a degree in the Culinary Arts”.
