On May 7, 2022, Hitchcock ISD passed its Bond Election for a total of $43,630,000. The bond package included:

• New CTE/Fine Arts Facility
• Cafeteria Expansion at Hitchcock High School
• Turfing of Baseball/Softball Field
• Improvements at Crosby Middle School
• Improvements at Stewart Elementary School

The passage of the bond resulted in a Tax Rate increase of $0.20 for an overall rate of $0.40. 

Taxpayers over the age of 65 were not affected by this Tax Rate increase. By State Law, taxes on the homestead of persons over the age of 65 are frozen and cannot be raised unless the owner makes improvements to the property, at which time the taxes are "frozen" again. 

As we progress on building, renovating, and improving our facilities, we want to share the process with you. Please check back here from time to time for updates as these projects progress.

The Hitchcock ISD CTE & Fine Arts Building Groundbreaking is Monday, September 25th @ 5:30 PM @ Hitchcock High School. 

We will kick off the construction to this building among other projects at the high school. Construction is expected to be completed by December of the 2024 school year.
