Bulldogs Play The Texas Way
What Is The Texas Way?
Playing the Texas Way®: The Bulldog Commitment
At Hitchcock ISD, our athletes, coaches, and supporters take pride not only in how we play—but in how we represent. As proud members of the UIL and the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA), our Bulldogs are committed to upholding The Texas Way®, a statewide initiative that champions sportsmanship, character, and respect in every arena.
Through this campaign, in partnership with the THSCA, THSADA, and 2Words Character Development, our goal is simple:
- Improve sportsmanship
- Decrease ejections
- Strengthen relationships between coaches, athletes, officials, and fans
What It Means to Compete the Texas Way®
To play The Texas Way® is to lead with integrity, pride, and respect—on and off the field. It’s not just how we play the game, but how we treat the people in it. We believe character wins every time.
The Three Pillars of The Texas Way®
Respect for Others
We give respect—not because of what others do, but because of who we are.
Whether you’re a coach, a player, an official, or a fan, you matter, and our Bulldogs will treat you that way.
Respect, The Texas Way®, is given generously.
Control of Self
We train hard and compete harder, but we never lose sight of our responsibility to lead with composure. Adversity will come—but how we respond defines us.
Self-control, The Texas Way®, means we handle adversity with class.
Spirit of Competition
We play to win. But never at the cost of our values. We push ourselves and our teammates to give everything we've got—while playing with honor and heart.
Competition, The Texas Way®, is about more than a scoreboard.
The Bulldog Standard
Wearing the Bulldog jersey means more than showing up on game day—it means leading with character, standing tall in difficult moments, and setting the example for the next generation.
We are proud to say:
📣 We compete with heart. We win with honor. We lose with grace.
That’s the Bulldog way.
That’s The Texas Way®.
