Welcome to the Communications Department!
The Hitchcock ISD Communications Department offers unwavering support to the schools and District in fostering timely, accurate, and effective two-way communication between HISD and the public. In doing this, the department ensures a unified, cohesive brand is shared amongst the District and the public.
The department is charged with creating awareness and building support of school district programs, services, events and activities, and with promoting student and staff achievement through all effective means of communication.
Some areas of responsibility and specialization the department currently handles include:
- Social media strategy
- Media relations
- Marketing and promotions
- Public relations
- Community relations
- Emergency communication
Everything we do is accomplished through a variety of channels:
- District and campus webpages
- Press releases & other news/announcements
- Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Peachjar e-flyers
- Local news media
- Mass notifications system (text, email, and call-outs)
- Direct mail (letters, brochures, etc...)
