Hitchcock ISD Employees Honored at the B.L.U.E. Awards Gala

Hitchcock ISD was proudly represented at the Inaugural Business, Leadership & Urban Excellence (B.L.U.E.) Awards Gala, a prestigious event honoring individuals who exemplify leadership, service, and excellence within the community. Hosted by Dedrick Johnson Productions in partnership with B.L.U.E. Inc., the gala celebrated African American professionals, educators, and community leaders who have made a significant impact.

Among the honorees were two Hitchcock ISD standouts:

  • Coach Jordan, recipient of the 2025 Trailblazer Award, recognized for his outstanding contributions to youth development and leadership.
  • Deidre Holmes, nominated for the Educator of Excellence Award, a testament to her unwavering dedication to academic achievement and student success.

The event, held at the Charles Doyle Convention Center in Texas City, brought together business leaders, educators, nonprofit organizations, and public servants to celebrate their collective efforts in fostering urban excellence, innovation, and leadership.

“This was a truly special night,” said Nominee Deidre Holmes. “To be recognized alongside so many inspiring individuals is an incredible honor. It’s a reminder that the work we do every day in education has a lasting impact.”

The B.L.U.E. Awards Gala highlighted outstanding achievements across multiple categories, from entrepreneurship to public service, emphasizing the importance of community-driven progress.
