Incident at COM 8/31/23

Hitchcock ISD parents and guardians:

The safety of our students and staff is always of the utmost importance. To that end, we want to make you aware that this morning, Hitchcock High School students taking classes on campus at College of the Mainland (COM) were sent into a “Lockdown” by the college as a precaution due to an unrelated incident nearby. The lockdown has been lifted, and there is no threat to our student(s) safety.

We all play a vital role in any school-wide safety effort, and we sincerely appreciate COM and Texas City Police Department’s communication with us during this matter. If you have updated contact information with Hitchcock High School, we sent a notification to you as well. As always, we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
