Welcome to the Special Programs Department!

The Special Programs Department directly oversees and/or assists with the administration, coordination and implementation of a variety of school district programs and initiatives.  These HISD Special Programs include:

  • Dyslexia Services
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) Services
  • Gifted and Talented (GT) Services
  • McKenney Vento Services
  • Response to Intervention (RtI) Services
  • Section 504 Services

The Special Programs department provides instructional services and support for students throughout Hitchcock ISD. To effectively lead, support, and coordinate the variety of programs, the Special Programs Department works with district staff, administrators, directors, principals, teachers, parents and students as appropriate.
